PS: If you are looking for some more mainstream superheroes then you might like to look at this chart of superhero books.

The Thing and MadMan
Powers: The Thing possesses superhuman strength, endurance and durability. The mutagenic, frequency-specific cosmic rays with which he was bombarded in outer space caused his muscles, bones, internal organs, soft tissue and skin to increase greatly in toughness and density. As such, the Thing's body is able to withstand extremes of temperature and the explosive effects of armor-piercing bazooka shells. His reflexes remain above average despite his additional mass, and the volume and efficiency of his lungs are greater than a normal man. Despite his rock-hard exterior, the Thing remains susceptible to colds, diseases and emotional stress.

MadMan Comments: If you mess with me on Webword, I *will* pound your arse. It's clobbering time!

Speed Racer with Chim Chim and MadMan with 'Friend'
Powers: Featuring Speed and his ultimate driving machine, the Mach 5, Speed Racer combines racing with intrigue. Joining Speed is an unforgettable cast of characters, including Mom and Pops Racer, girlfriend Trixie, little brother Spritle and his pet monkey Chim Chim, mechanic Sparky, and the mysterious Racer X.

'Friend' Comments : If you think that I play second fiddle to MadMan or anyone else then you are sorely mistaken !

Emma Frost and Lydia

Powers: As a consequence of continued mutation, Emma Frost can assume a diamond-hard, nearly indestructible form. Previously, she possessed various telepathic talents, including the ability to read minds and influence the thoughts of others.  Emma Frost is a leading member of an old Boston mercantile family that arrived from England in the 1600s. She inherited a good deal of wealth, but most of her large fortune resulted from her professional success. She ascended rapidly to the upper echelon of the business world on the strength of her intelligence, drive and personal charm...and the secret use of her psionic abilities.

Lydia Comments: Thought manipulation: very cool. Head of huge corporation making mega money: also very cool. Will use crippling psi-powers only for good, not evil. Well, mostly. Mostly for good. Maybe a little evil. Maybe just enough to convince the Sub Mariner to arm wrestle me.

Nick Fury and John Rhodes

Powers: Nick Fury has trained as a paratrooper, Ranger, demolitions expert and vehicle specialist. He holds an unlimited-tonnage, all-seas license as a commander of ocean-going vessels. Fury has completed Green and Black Beret special-forces training, is a seasoned unarmed- and armed-combat expert, was a heavyweight boxer in the Army, and holds a black belt in Tae Kwan Do and a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu. He has honed his fighting skills sparring with the star-spangled Super-Soldier called Captain America, perhaps the world's finest unarmed-combat expert. The experimental Infinity Formula that Fury first ingested during World War II retarded his aging, granting him the physique of a much younger man. Nick Fury, the oldest of three children born to an American pilot who died in battle during the final year of World War I, grew up in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York City. At the start of American involvement in World War II, Fury enlisted in the Army. He underwent basic training at Fort Dix in New Jersey under the command of Sgt. Charles Bass, a stern taskmaster who singled him out as the company scapegoat. In short order, Fury proved himself to be an excellent soldier and capable leader, and rose quickly to the rank of sergeant.

John Comments: Mac, this is brilliant and you must do more of these. I LOVE 'em. Never thought of myself as a Nick Fury kind of guy, but I think it is OUTSTANDING and entirely entertaining. Obviously, you are Captain Britain.

Mysterio and Jack Schonchin

Powers: A master magician and hypnotist, Mysterio could perform multiple sleights of hand simultaneously. Also, Quentin Beck was a skilled amateur chemist; he concocted a variety of explosives, hallucinogens and toxins of various strengths and effects. Quentin Beck boasted an extensive repertoire of stage illusions and special-effects devices. Mysterio's helmet contained holographic projectors and was constructed of one-way Plexiglas that prevented his face from being seen. Tubes running under his costume fed nozzles in his gloves and boots that emitted thick, vision-obscuring gas to mask his entrances and exits. Quentin Beck began his career as a movie stuntman, but soon developed a singular interest in the field of motion-picture special effects. In short order, he became one of the industry's most accomplished masters of illusion. Motivated by a desire to transcend the limited recognition of his behind-the-scenes occupation, Beck attempted to become an actor. He met with little success. A friend's joking suggestion set in motion his efforts to kill the wisecracking, web-slinging super hero known as Spider-Man and take his place as a popular crimefighter.

Jack Comments: I am not surprised. When I demonstrate my superior intellect it is often mistaken for magic and hypnotism. I debunk arrogant web-slingers with glee. If that makes me an outlaw, so be it. I fight for the users.

Kingpin and George Olsen

Powers: Thanks to years of training and discipline, the Kingpin is an extraordinary hand-to-hand combatant. These fighting skills, coupled with unusual agility for a man his size, compensate for his lack of superhuman strength when engaged in unarmed combat with heroes like Spider-Man and Daredevil.  Fisk educated himself by stealing books from stores and libraries, taking a particular interest in political science. He determined that another key to his success would be the use of such techniques to organize and direct groups of criminals. Fisk's gang grew rapidly in size, influence, power and wealth. However, he was careful to invest his ill-gotten gains in legitimate businesses.

Captain Britain and Mac

Powers: Brian Braddock's mystical armaments amplify his strength, stamina and reflexes; permit him to fly; and enable him to generate a protective forcefield. Captain Britain wields Excalibur, the Sword of Might, forged in the fires of creation and tempered by the power of the universe. United with the Amulet of Right, Excalibur possesses the capacity to remake the cosmos. Both talismans of power formerly belonged to the god-wizard Merlin. The patron spirits decreed that Brian would be Britain's champion, and gifted him with a mystical star-sceptre to enhance his fighting skills. Captain Britain fought alongside some of the world's greatest heroes, overcoming a bout with depression to gain a new perspective on the mantle he had been handed.

Mac Comments: Hmmm, a bit nationalistic and it should be the 'Amulet of Left', but apart from that I'm happy. I've always wanted to fly.

Dr Octopus and Jakob

Powers: Once he was Otto Octavius -- a brilliant and respected nuclear physicist, inventor and lecturer. Frustrated by the limitations of the human body, Octavius designed and built a set of robotic arms to assist him in his research. Unfortunately, the world can only guess at the scientific heights to which this genius would have ascended. A freak laboratory accident exposed Octavius to intense radioactivity, grafting the mechanical appendages to his body and granting him complete telepathic control over the artificial limbs. But the mishap altered Octavius' mind, as well, transforming him from a timid researcher into a criminally insane megalomaniac.

Silver Surfer and Frank Lynch

Powers: The Silver Surfer has certain cosmic energy enhanced perceptions which enable him through concentration to become aware of the patterns of energy which surround him. Accordingly, he can sense great concentrations or deployment of energy anywhere in the world. He has a special affinity for the life energies of living beings, and can use his cosmic powers to augment them to a certain degree. While he can use his power to revitalize life energies and heal the wounded, he cannot create life or restore life to the dead. The Silver Surfer does not need to eat or breathe since he absorbs life-maintaining cosmic energy direct through his skin. Although his body does not require sleep, his mind still does in order to give it an opportunity to dream.

Frank Comments:  maybe I should opt for the Silver Surfer, always waxing philospohical. And if 1,500+ Samuel Johnson quotations ain't a way to wax philosophical...

Luke Cage and glasshaus Bruce

Powers: Luke Cage possesses superhuman strength, dense muscle and bone tissue, and steel-hard skin. His recovery time from injury or trauma is about one-third that of a normal human. Wrongly convicted of a crime he didn't commit, Luke Cage submitted to a strange experiment to win his freedom from prison. He emerged with rock-hard skin, superhuman strength and a thirst for vengeance. Sidetracked by a brush with heroism, Cage cashed in on his newfound powers. Cage routinely sought out and fought mob collection agents. Following each brawl, he would hand out business cards to onlookers. Years later, he continues to fight the good fight...for the right price. He is Luke Cage: Hero for Hire!

Gamellian and Daniel Szuc

Powers: Gamellian was born 32,497,621 earth years ago. His place of abode is among the multiple colours and sounds of the 5th Dimension. His mission is to help EarthXia introduce the Brilliant Universal Gene to the Earth's next generation. Gamellian's objectives is to teach children and teenagers how to access every part of their being through drama and recognise that each part makes up the whole. His super powers include bringing joy and laughter to Earth and helping the younger generation to feel comfortable with their own existence.

Daniel Comments:
By the way folks I really do play the "Gamellian" as part of the earthxia story in HK (kids entertainment - parties etc). Its a blast !! And its nice to play a super hero type on occassions... ;)
